On the 26th February we celebrated our 1st Birthday – one year since our very first meeting and when the Sotonettes officially became a WI!
In celebration, our February meeting was a big birthday party with party bags, party games, a huge raffle and so much cake brought along by members and guests.
It was great to see so many ladies still excited by and interested in what we do, with both year-long members and first time visitors coming together to celebrate with us!
Our amazing raffle prizes included – Meal and Cocktail vouchers donated by Mango Thai restaurant, Vintage Accessories from Hepwright’s Vintage, Coffee from both Orzo Coffee and Mozzo Coffee, Massage Vouchers from Chessel Bay Therapies and YOU Massage, Notebooks from Red Hot Press and a Baby Belling Oven from Belling! We are so grateful to all the companies that donated to the raffle and we hope everyone who won has enjoyed their prizes!
It was nice to have opportunity to chat with everyone who came along rather than rush around organising activities, we hope to have more time for socialising alongside our talks and activities in future. We also got loads of great feedback and suggestions on the night that will be really helpful to make Sotonettes better for everyone and help us plan our future events. Our March meeting will be Yoga, a change to the advertised schedule as Tea Tasting has had to be rearranged for May – we hope to see lots of you there on Tuesday 26th March – we will be meeting in Re:So in the Marlands, we are still awaiting instructions on how to enter the building so keep your eyes on our Facebook page.
A reminder on membership – subscription for 2013 costs £33, if you were a member for 2012 and do not renew at our March meeting your membership will expire and you will no longer get free entry to our meetings or copies of WI Life.
